The Vidai Ceremony Tikuli Painting is an exact depiction of the auspicious and the most beautiful ceremonial procession that sees sending-off of the bride to her grooms house. About Tikuli Painting

The Tikuli painting is practised in remote areas of Bihar and Jharkhand. It is more or less similar to Madhubani art and has the same characteristics except that Tikuli features a host of dots and blotches throughout. Tikuli painting is a popular art, used to design homewares such as tea-coasters, trays, serving plates and so on. The intricate Tikuli patterns are a delight to see and a beauty to own.

Interestingly, the word Tikuli emerged from one of the adornments of ladies the Bindis that embellishes the forehead of women especially those who are married. The artists were inspired by the idea of the Bindi only to come up with Tikuli, which is an extension of the Mithila or the Madhubani art form.
It is majorly done on wood especially on hardwood so that the exact effects of the colours are emerged as one.
