Also known as Cire Perdue or lost wax procedure, Dhokra involves a replica of the artefact being made with a wax on a clay centre along with significant motifs and embellishments.

As the artefact is heated, the wax melts and leaves its metal structure behind. The artefact enters the stage where it is further decorated with intricate designs to look attractive.
